Day 13 – 20 February – Dubbo to Maitland and Day 14 – 21 February – Maitland to HOME

When we go away, we both reach a point where it is time to turn for home. We reached that point today. However, we had a great day. Dunedoo and Merriwa both produced Silo and Street Art. Both were great. The ‘Running of the sheep wearing red socks is part of Merriwa’s ‘Festival of the Fleeces’. The young lass in the Visitor’s Centre at Merriwa was delightful as well.

Driving on we passed through Scone and Muswellbrook and finished at Maitland. The stopover at Maitland was with the goal of a day at Morpeth, but Morpeth was closed – very disappointed! However Maitland produced a fascinating Mexican Restaurant called Muchos Mexican. Plenty of atmosphere and great food made the evening a success.

The next morning we set out. Because Morpeth was closed, we drove straight through to Dungog, where we had a lovely morning tea with Mogi and Gerdi.

From there, nothing could deter us from driving straight through Gloucester and home sweet home!
